 We are committed to bringing you the best in diving and introducing you to some of the most pristine spots in the world, such as;

PALAU: November 21 - 29, 2008 for $4395. PALAU, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, roughly 500 miles east of the Philippines, is nothing short a diver's dream, nowhere moreso than at the  coral reef known as, Blue Corner. The Blue Corner, also referred to  as the Via Veneto of the underwater world, is a slope followed by a sharp drop-off, and it is one of the most fabled dive sites on the planet. Why not spend Thanksgiving here, with us at the beautiful Palau Pacific Resort. This trip includes: international airfare from LAX, land, and five days of 3 tank boat diving. For more information on Palau, read the September 2007 article (see link, below) in the New York Times, and for more trip specifics, please review our flyer. As Suzann says, "Treat yourself to the best! Call your office, tell your boss you ARE going away for 10 days over Thanksgiving, then call Rick and tell him to sign you up for the Palau trip".

CLASSES

ASC has a class for all learners from beginner to advanced, so why not have a look at a sampling of some of our offerings listed below.
Start  Dving

Open Water Diver. Our basic course, for those desiring to become open water certified in SCUBA. Through the PADI program of both classroom learning and practical work in the swimming pool, students become schooled in safely traversing the undeniably fascinating underwater world. This course is offered in varying timeframes to work with most schedules. Private instruction is available, as well, which provides the ultimate in schduling flexibilty. Consider choosing our cost effective package that combines Instruction, PADI student materials and SCUBA gear in one easy to obtain experince.

SCUBA Review. When land based activites preempt aquatic activity for some time, a PADI SCUBA Review course is a great way to reaquaint divers with the "rules of the underwater road." This course provides a thorough underwater "tune up" with course time being divided equally between the classroom and swimming pool. this is an excellent opportunity for those of you heading to warmer climes for the winter months to sharpen your underwater skills!

Enriched Air. Often referred to as "NITROX," this course schools the learner in the practice of breathing air with a increased quantity of oxygen. Breathing air with higher quantities of H2O prolongs bottom time,  and makes the diving experience even more pleasureable!

As mentioned earlier, the above mentioned courses represent only a smattering of the learning opportunities that we offer here at ASC. Please take a look at our Autumn/Winter 2008 flyer  to view our full course listings.

Stop by the Store and let Carl show you our newest equipment & accessories

Come visit and try the improved technology that the newest gear has to offer! We have new BCD's, Regulators and Dive Computers from ScubaPro and Aqua Lung. The lower profiles and lighter weights of the new BCD's make them more comfortable. The newest wetsuits are stretchier and warmer. The latest regulator technology makes them much easier and quieter to breathe - especially at depth. The new dive computers are smarter and lighter with new safety features and larger memories!

AQUA LUNG announces the release of the most innovative computers yet. Check out the COBRA2 AND VYPER2 with graphic logbook and easy-to-read matrix displays: Suunto-the world leader in dive computers-has redesigned its popular Suunto Cobra and Vyper to help enthusiasts maximize bottom time and get the most from every dive. Engineered for accuracy and ease of use, the new Suunto Cobra2 and Vyper2 build on the proven features of their predecessors with an electronic compass, graphic dive profiles, Suunto RGBM Deep Stop Algorithm and simplified four-button operation. Both units are full decompression dive computers, with the added benefit of air integration on the Cobra2. The Cobra2 and Vyper2 can be used for diving with air or Nitrox, or as a depth gauge and timer-all with profile memory. In Nitrox mode, the diver can choose between two different gas mixes, preset before the dive. The diver can choose from 21-100% oxygen content, with the ability to change the partial pressure of the oxygen for each mix. During the dive, the user can switch to the second gas within allowable safety limits (maximum operating depth).

Extensive memory functions include lifetime history, and a 42-hour (Cobra2) or 80-hour (Vyper2) logbook with dive profile. The default 20 second sampling rate can be changed to 1, 10, 30 or 60 seconds. With the 60 second sampling rate, the diver can increase the total logbook memory of the Cobra2 to 128 hours and the Vyper2 to 240 hours. The logbook memory and the graphic dive profile show real-time water temperature information, which can be seen on the screen immediately after the dive.
